Men in Technology vs women not in technology

Just like any other human being i like a good humor and laugh . There is no limitations for joke in the internet, one day i spend more than hour or two scrolling through google image on Thor meme and they were hilarious. No matter which social networking site you use frequently, i'm sure you are following one or more trolling pages or groups. I myself follow loads of those accounts in Facebook and twitter. Some of the jokes posted on those accounts really makes me LOL.

Since i'm am an IT student i happen to follow trolling accounts related to IT, programming and others. And the ammo for those pages are that  women are stupid when it comes to technology and also in general. And most of the jokes are about girl not understanding basic things about computer. As an IT student trust me i have seen many guys who can't even write an algorithm for anything and you, the admin behind trolling pages are saying that all the girls will call snake to the Python program? And it really upsets me because it is not true for all girls. I know very few girls are into IT but still you can't make fun of those girls who don't share same enthusiasm in technology as you. Not only they make jokes about girls not understanding technology but also give back hand complement if they do. In one of the trolling page i once saw a "joke" saying "Marry that girl who can download a movie from Torrent". And if i try to comment them saying please don't write these kind sexist "joke" they won't even acknowledge those comments.

When you proudly say that i know this programming language, i know that language that you probably learnt on YouTube do you really know that YouTube is run by Susan Wojcicki the current female CEO of the YouTube. When you post those women insulting jokes on Facebook, do you really know that COO(Chief Operating Officer) of Facebook is Sheryl Sandberg who is also a female.

From the start of civilization, women are never treated equal as men neither they are provided with same opportunities. So before insulting a woman think that, we were never given the same treatment and opportunities and whatever we, women have achieved till this date it just started century or two ago. If we can achieve all these achievement with in century or two think what could we have achieved by now if we were treated the same.

I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.
―Malala Yousafzai
And yet if you still think that it is okay to joke about more than half of the population of human race then you are a hopeless douchebag.

let's talk about the time i went to movie alone

It's not a sad story even though i went to see a movie alone in theater. It was Saturday that i made a plan to see a movie called Doctor Strange (wink wink yeah i'm fan of superhero movies) on Sunday. So i  was thinking of the friends that i could go with but there was no one i could ask because none of them were interested  in superhero/comic movies. So i went alone because i couldn't wait any longer because if i did there would be nothing to see and everything would be spoiled for me because of the internet, so i went to see it alone.

Good Girls (In Nepal)

I am a proud Nepali girl, but when you are one the girls in your family your elder female member start giving advice on how to be a good girl. The following advices not all given to me, some of them are what given to my elders by their elders. So some of the advice (not all of them) I have received are:

1.Speak with respect
No matter how bad people are talking about you or someone you love, if the person talking those kind of thing are elder than you or is elder in relation than you, don't talk back to them. It doesn't matter what they say, you don't talk back.

2.Never use swear word

Chakka Panja

Today I went to watch a Nepali movie called Chakka Panja and
WOW! I mean W-O-W! The movie Chakka Panja is the best movie of 2073 (and I think overall Nepali movie yet released). Not only just the storyline of the film but also the cast, music, cinematography, direction and the acting of the cast is at its best.

Would you really body shame a 7-year old?????

I live in a country where from the birth, a girl is taught what she can and has to do and what she can’t do and how she should present herself. She is taught how to do makeups and cook. It’s not like that She is not given opportunities as boys and son(s) of the family she is, but at the end her “success” and her “career” is measured on what her husband is and how many of her children are boys.

I don’t really go to the social gathering, because that place is crowded with people who really wants to make conversation. And I really don’t like talking to those people who still think the domain for girl/ women is kitchen and her married life only and that irritates the hell out of me.

Teej

Today is Teej, for overall Hindu female either married or unmarried women, a teenager or a girl it is their festival. In this day all the women fast for the long life of their husband and unmarried girls fast so they will get a good husband and have a good future with them.  The person taking this fast will neither eat nor drink, not even a drop of water. It is believed that fasting this way god will be pleased and grant the wish of the fasting person. Since it is very unhealthy not to eat and drink for a whole day straight, priests and Gurus encourage to eat fruits and water to the person who is fasting. Health conscious people, weak women, pregnant women, elder women and ill women can eat some foods which are rated as ‘ok to eat’ like rice pudding, milk product, yoghurt, Sabudana, fruits etc. Basically don’t eat salt, meat, garlic, tomato, onion. This day women would go to the Shiva Temple and if they can they will go to Pashupatinath temple.

It is believed that this tradition was started by our Goddess Parvathi when she fasted for days without eating or drinking anything so she will get married to Lord Shiva. And after this she did got married to the Lord Shiva and lived happily with her husband.

The fast starts with taking a shower in the morning and wearing a pure clothes which usually means clean, washed clothes. Since it is Teej, the choice of color is Red for clothes. Married women get ready in Red Sari, beads, golds, bangles, anklet, tika, wear makeups and etc. And goes to the Temple. Then they gather around sing folk songs about Teej and dance.

At the evening, the fasting women will have to lit a diyo and pray to god again. Then they end their fast by drinking water washed from their husband’s foot, and eat only fruits as dinner.  The fast ends properly when they take bath the next day.
